Wrist pain from constant mouse reach
Every trip from keyboard to mouse adds up. Developers, designers, and office workers can make thousands of micro-movements per day — a common trigger for wrist fatigue.
Keyboard mouse control for Windows
Keyboard First is a lightweight Windows app that replaces repetitive mouse movement with keyboard shortcuts. Move, click, drag, scroll, switch monitors, and jump to screen zones — without leaving the keyboard.
Ergonomic mouse alternative
Many people search for ergonomic mice, vertical mice, or trackballs to fix wrist pain and RSI. Those devices help posture — but you still click and drag all day. Keyboard First takes a different approach: control the mouse from your keyboard and cut repetitive strain at the source.
Every trip from keyboard to mouse adds up. Developers, designers, and office workers can make thousands of micro-movements per day — a common trigger for wrist fatigue.
Repetitive strain injury and tendon irritation are linked to repeated clicks and drags. Fewer mouse actions means less load on your wrist and fingers during long sessions.
Use WASD to move, Space to click, and zone keys to jump — your hands stay on the keyboard instead of gripping a mouse.
How it works
Keyboard First runs in the system tray. Toggle it on when you want pointer control from the keyboard; toggle off for normal typing.
No installer or admin rights needed. The app stays in your tray — gray icon when off, color when on.
Enable keyboard-first mode. Use WASD to move, Space to click, R/F to scroll.
Divide the screen into a 5×5 grid and teleport the cursor to any zone — less mouse travel across large monitors.
Before & after
Reach for the mouse, move across the screen, click, drag, scroll, then return to the keyboard — hundreds of times per hour.
Toggle Keyboard First and use keys to move, click, drag, scroll, go back/forward, copy/cut/paste, switch monitors, and jump to screen zones.
